Women Got the Vote, But We're Still Broke! -  |

Celebrate Women's Equality Day at Agnes and Muriels.
August 26 marks the passing of the 19th amendment granting women the right to vote. Come out to Agnes and Muriels to celebrate this day, but also to draw attention to the fact that women are STILL paid, on average, 77 cents on every dollar that men make (acknowleding by means of fab drink specials)
Shyria Coleman from Atlanta 9-5 will be doing a short presentation on Pay Equity and discuss some of the legislation.

Via text message early this morning, Barack Obama announced that Delaware Senator Joe Biden will be his running mate. Obama followed up with an e-mail at 5:30 a.m. saying, “I’m excited about hitting the campaign trail with Joe, but the two of us can’t do this alone. We need your help to keep building this movement for change.”
